Strange Child

I took this picture of my son at a children’s birthday party a few weeks ago. Its very haunting in a way. I used a Canon PowerShot A610 and he was moving very fast I guess.
There ya go. On this topic I have been looking at new cameras. I am a real Canon zealot. Since the late 90’s when I owned a Nikon Coolpix 950 and it malfunctioned several times I have since become a Canon fan, specifically the point and shoot PowerShot series. I have owned both a A610 and an older model an A520, both very durable and take decent pictures. I have a few requirements when buying a digital camera.
- Must use AA or AAA batteries, I dislike proprietary batteries, nothing like being out of juice and not being able to buy replacements.
- Must be durable, not flimsy.
- Must not be too small. Being to small is a bad thing for me. I use the camera in my workshop a lot and it tends to get piled under paper and tools sometimes.
- Should take decent night photos, I shoot pictures of my artwork in the dusk and dark.
- I dont care much about massive zoom
Thats about it. Oh and cost around 200 $$.
