Notion is a flexible workspace that can become almost anything. Obscribe does one job: it keeps meeting notes, decisions, open questions and tasks together so follow-through happens. If you want to build your own system, pick Notion. If you want one that already works, try Obscribe.
Your main need is to remember what was decided and who is doing what after meetings.
You would rather start from a working structure than design databases and views yourself.
You want decisions and open questions as their own things, not rows you set up by hand.
Your team is small and wants a tool it can learn in an afternoon.
Choose Notion if
You want one place for wikis, documents, projects and custom databases.
You need integrations, an API, or to publish pages on the web.
You want relations, formulas and many views over the same data.
You want a large library of templates and a big community around the tool.

The details, plainly.
Feature
Obscribe
Notion
Built for
Meeting follow-through: notes, decisions, open questions and tasks together.
A general workspace: documents, wikis, databases and project tracking.
Tasks
Make a task from any passage in a note. It keeps the original wording and links back to it. A board for a note or a whole project.
Tasks live in databases you design. Very flexible, but you set up the structure and the links yourself.
Decisions and open questions
Built in. Recorded beside the note, answered or reopened later, and gathered in each project's catch-up.
No dedicated feature. Teams build their own with a database or a template.
Planning the next meeting
One click carries unfinished tasks and unanswered questions into a fresh note. They stay the same task, not a copy.
Done by hand, or with a recurring template you set up.
Databases and custom views
Not available. Tasks have lists and a board.
A core strength: tables, boards, calendars and timelines over the same data.
Wikis and knowledge base
Notes in projects and folders, with search. It is not a wiki system.
A core strength.
Templates
12 templates for meetings, projects, teams and personal planning, listed on the templates page.
A very large library, including templates from the community.
Integrations and API
None today.
Many integrations and an API.
AI
An optional assistant on your own API key. Off by default, nothing changes until you review it, and it cannot delete anything.
Notion AI, available on paid plans. Check Notion's pricing page for what each plan includes.
Meeting recording
No recording or transcription. Obscribe works from what you write.
AI meeting notes can transcribe a call on the plans that include them.
Price
$10 per seat a month billed yearly, or $12 monthly. One plan with every feature, after a 14-day free trial.
A free plan and paid tiers. See Notion's pricing page for the current prices.

How they differ
Structure that is already there
In Notion you decide how tasks, notes and decisions connect, and that freedom is why people love it. It also means someone has to build and maintain the system, and every team ends up with a slightly different one.
Obscribe makes the connections for you. A task made from a sentence remembers that sentence. A decision sits beside the note it came from. A project catch-up shows what is overdue, what is unanswered and what was decided this week, without a single view to configure.
Open questions are first-class
Most tools track tasks. Far fewer track the question nobody answered. In Obscribe an open question stays visible, in the note and in the project catch-up, until someone records the answer. You can reopen it if things change.
Where Notion is stronger
Notion is the better choice when you want a single home for everything a team knows: wikis, documents, custom databases and published pages, with integrations into the rest of your tools. Obscribe does not try to be that, and has no databases, no integrations and no page publishing today.
Using both
Plenty of teams could use both: a wiki in Notion, and Obscribe for the meetings and decisions that feed it. Obscribe exports every note as Markdown and tasks as CSV, so nothing you write there is locked in.
See pricing for what Obscribe costs, or browse the templates to see what a note looks like.
Questions
Good to know.
Is Obscribe a Notion alternative?
For one job, yes. If you mainly use Notion for meeting notes, action items and decisions, Obscribe covers that with less setup. If you use Notion for wikis, databases and publishing, it is not a replacement for those.
Can I move my Notion notes into Obscribe?
There is no importer yet. You can copy and paste text into a note, and Obscribe supports headings, checklists, lists and quotes. You can export from Obscribe at any time as JSON, Markdown and CSV.
Does Obscribe have databases like Notion?
No. Tasks have list and board views, and notes live in projects and folders, but you cannot build custom databases.
