For engineering teams

Remember why you built it that way, and what you agreed to fix.

Engineering teams make hundreds of small decisions and promise as many fixes. Obscribe keeps the retro, the triage and the reasoning in one place, so the team does not argue the same question twice.

The problem

The issue tracker knows what is broken. It rarely knows why you chose one approach over another, or what the team promised in last sprint's retro.

Those reasons live in chat and in people's heads, and they leave when people do. A short, searchable record of decisions and their context is worth far more than it costs to keep.

What Obscribe gives engineering teams

A decision log you will actually keep

Record the decision, the options you turned down and the reasons. Search it when someone asks why.

Retros that change something

The sprint retro template turns what to change into checklist items with an owner, and carries unfinished ones into the next retro.

Triage with an audit trail

Use the bug triage template for the weekly pass: what hurts most, who picks it up and what you chose not to fix.

Open questions for design discussions

Capture the question a design review leaves open and keep it visible until it is answered.

What a week looks like

  1. Sprint start: write the project kickoff note with scope, out-of-scope and first milestones.
  2. Through the sprint: log each technical decision with its context as it is made.
  3. Weekly: run bug triage from the template and turn each pick-up into a task with an owner.
  4. Sprint end: run the retro, keep one or two changes, and carry anything unfinished forward.

What it costs

Free for 14 days with up to 5 members and every feature. Then $10 per seat a month billed yearly, or $12 monthly. Obscribe has no integrations today, so it sits beside your issue tracker rather than replacing it. See pricing for the details.

Questions

Good to know.

Does Obscribe replace Jira or Linear?

No. It has no integrations and is not an issue tracker. It keeps the notes, decisions and follow-ups around your engineering work.

How do we record a decision?

Write it in the note and record it as a decision beside the text. Recent decisions show up in the project catch-up, and every decision stays attached to the note it came from.

Is our data safe?

Workspaces are private to their members, sign-in supports passkeys and two-step codes, and you can export everything. Read the security page for details and for what we do not claim.
